In groups today, we'll try to compile a list of facts and equations that you should know about magnetism.ย  We'll collect all of the ideas and make sure you understand the following:

We'll start the period by testing our understanding of force on moving charged particles in magnetic fields with a couple of demonstrations. We'll discuss applications including the mass spectrometer.ย  We'll then apply our problem solving and collaboration skills by doing problems from AP problems for force by magnetic field. ย  (MC ans: CADEEACDA)ย

Homework:ย  Work on above problems and upload FRQ solutions to โ๏ธ Google Classroom assignment by Tuesday, February 13th at 10pm.ย ย

This hour, we'll continue to apply our problem solving and collaboration skills by doing problems from AP problems for force by magnetic field. ย  (MC ans: CADEEACDA)ย

At the end of class, we will review how we know the direction of the magnetic field created by a wire or solenoid.ย  Then, we'll learn to quantify the magnetic field with the Law of Biot-Savart.ย  (This law is the magnetic field analog to the superposition integral for electric field E=โซdE .)ย ย

Homework:ย  QUIZ on Magnetism Review on Wednesday, February 14th.ย  Finish all of the problems and upload FRQ solutions from AP problems for force by magnetic field to โ๏ธ Google Classroom assignment by Tuesday, February 13th at 10pm.ย  Watch the following video on how to use the Biot-Savart Law:ย ย
