🟢 5: F 4/12 - series and parallel circuits problems
Today, practice series and parallel circuits problem by working on 📖 Mastering Physics "Ch 23 - series & parallel circuits" problems: #5, 10, 11, 12, 15, 17, 18, 23, 56, 58. Make sure you hand in "Series and Parallel (PH)" and "Simple Circuits CompuSheets" due today in class.
Homework: 📖 Mastering Physics due Sunday, April 14th at 10pm. Email me with questions. Circuits Quiz next class - Monday, April 15th.
Optional Extension Activity: First watch "Circuit Analysis: Crash Course Physics #30." The key to solving combination circuits is to *REDRAW THE CIRCUIT EVERY TIME YOU COMBINE RESISTORS* that are simply in series or simply in parallel. See my solution to the "Crash Course Circuit Analysis SOLUTION" where I re-draw every step combining resistors in series or parallel, and then I work my way backwards to find currents, voltage drops, and power. For another detailed example, look in your textbook at Example 23.9 on pages 813-814.
Then, complete the 📖 Mastering Physics "Ch 23 - combo circuits" problems: #19, 20, 25, 27, 28, 29, 31, 63, 64, 72. This is completely optional, but recommended if you are taking AT Physics next year.
