Today, we'll apply Newton's Second Law by collaboratively completing the problems in the textbook:
Problems: Pages 135-136, #16, 21-23, 25, 26, 28-30
Homework: Pd 6 - Finish the problems above. Pd 8 - Have a good Thanksgiving! ππ¦π
Today, we'll learn about a class of problems called "elevator problems." You'll learn that a bathroom scale does not really measure your weight in all situations.
Then, do Big Newton's Law Packet page 3 #1-5 (skip #1b) (SOLUTIONS to p 3 of Packet ). Watch the following 10-minute video which may be useful in understanding elevator problems if you need clarification. These types of problems are easy to solve using the techniques that we've already been using including drawing free body diagrams and writing Ξ£F statements. Remember, a bathroom scale will read your "apparent weight" or the NORMAL force!
Homework: Pd 6 - Have a good Thanksgiving! ππ¦π Pd 8 - Finish the Newton's Second Law Problems from last week. If you need additional support on elevator problems, watch the videos below!
