Today, we'll learn about Electric Potential.
First watch the rest of the video "Electric Potential Energy and Potential" starting at minute 25. If you need to see it a different way, you can watch the other video posted here "Potential, Potential Difference, and Voltage" (by lasseviren1).
Then, watch this additional video which talks about the connection between electric field and electric potential and also discusses the topic of equipotential surfaces:
Then, attempt the textbook problems in the Electric Potential PowerPoint. Check with the solution guide in Google Classroom and make your corrections in a different colored pen. Take pictures of your solutions and upload them to βοΈ Google Classroom.
Homework: Finish the textbook problems in the Electric Potential PowerPoint and upload your corrected solutions to βοΈ Google Classroom by Friday at 10pm.
We've seen a lot of new and difficult concepts this unit, so we'll start today by trying to figure out how all these concepts relate to each other. Print or recreate on a piece of paper the chart "Electrostatic Information" and fill out this graphic organizer which will help us to organize the way we think about each concept. You can check the answers on slide 2 of the "Electrostatics Example Problems" presentation.
Then, write out solutions to the problems in the presentation "Electrostatics Example Problems." Make sure you draw a picture with each solution. Here are my written out solutions: Solutions to 1-4, Solution to TV tube problem involving projectile motion between two parallel plates. Take a look at the solutions and MAKE CORRECTIONS IN A DIFFERENT COLORED PEN. Take pictures of your corrected solutions and submit them to βοΈ Google Classroom.
We'll continue working on these problems next class as well.
Homework: Upload your corrected solutions to "Electrostatics Example Problems" to βοΈ Google Classroom by Monday at 10pm.
