Virginia Tech - "A Day in the Life of a Physics Major"

I would like to invite your students to register for our program called “A Day in the Life of a Physics Major”. The student will attend an information session about the application process, sit in on a class with physics majors, meet with our department chair, have lunch with a group of physics majors, tour teaching and research labs and tour campus. Virginia Tech will also host New Freshman and Transfer Open House on November 9th and November 10th (This is a one day event.) You can register for it at https://secure.hosting.vt.edu/www.admiss.vt.edu/visit/register/index.php/openhouse

Early Decision Applications are due November 1st and you will be notified by December 15th 

Regular Decision Applications are due January 15th and you will be notified by April 1st 

You can be awarded college credit for Advanced Placement Credits and Dual Enrollment Credit. (A score of 5 on the AP “C” 80 & 82 exam will earn the student credit for the first year of physics for physics major or engineering major. AP “B” credit will earn credit for Life Sciences majors.) 

Virginia Tech’s Physics Department offers the following degrees:
  • Bachelor of Science in Physics 
  • Bachelor of Science in Physics with an Astronomy Minor 
  • Bachelor of Science in Physics with a Computational Modeling and Data Analytics 
  • Bachelor of Science in Physics and Nano science 
  • Bachelor of Arts in Physics – Education 
  • Bachelor of Arts in Physics – Pre Med 
  • Bachelor of Arts in Physics – Law 
We have ~ 300 undergraduates and we also have a masters and a Ph.D. Program.
