Period 7 Lab quiz today!

Today we'll review the video from homework last night on Newton's Second Law through interactive lecture. We'll learn how to use our free-body diagrams to solve problems using Newton's Second Law.

In addition, we'll talk about the results of the lab and learn about what the accepted value is for our constant.

Presentation:  How to use Newton's Second Law
Homework everyone:  Do page 4 only in Newton's Second Law packetSOLUTIONS.  Make sure you draw free body diagrams for all problems.
Homework Period 5:  Final lab report is due on to Google Classroom on Monday, October 23rd at 11:59pm.  Lab quiz next class on Tuesday, October 24th.  Add a small section to the analysis of your lab - percent error for your constant.  The conclusion to your lab should be quite simple and contain three concise parts:
  • Please restate the FINAL relationship between force, mass, and motion (reiterate the equation).  Put a sentence or two around the relationship, but do NOT reiterate the whole experiment.  You may want to talk about the finding about the "motion" by describing the motion of a system experiencing a constant force.
  • Talk about sources of experimental error.
  • Talk about implications and applications to the real world.
