I'll start class today by taking any questions you have about the homework last night, especially the video.  We'll discuss video-watching strategies.

Then, you'll be taking a mechanics pre-test to see how much you remember from last year.  This pre-test is essential for me to figure out where you all are in your knowledge of physics (and what you forgot over the summer), and it will also tell you how much work you need to put into this class.

If there's time remaining at the end of class, you may start watching the homework video, but only if you have your own pair of headphones with you.

Homework:  Tonight, you'll have a 20-minute video for homework.  Even though the video itself is only 20 minutes, most people will not spend exactly that amount of time with it.  Some people will spend 15 minutes and others will spend 1 hour.  For some of you, this will be easy review and for others, you'll have to work hard to learn a more standard notation.  Don't forget to pause, take notes, rewind and rewatch, or fast forward as necessary.  Tomorrow, I want to see that you've at least tried the example problems at the end of the video.
